RioPort Bolsters Its Industry Leading PulseOne Service With Digital Envoy's NetAcuity Geographic Targeting Solution
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Jan. 16, 2002 - RioPort, the leading
music application service provider (ASP), today announced that it
has deployed Digital Envoy's NetAcuity geographic targeting technology to enhance the secure delivery of digital music content via its PulseOne Service.
RioPort's PulseOne Service provides the company's partners, including e-tailers, broadband and wireless service providers and consumer electronics companies, with a private-labeled, outsourced music content delivery service that enables them to let their customers try, rent, buy and access digital music anywhere. By adding Digital Envoy's NetAcuity capabilities to the service, RioPort can authenticate the geographic location of its partners' end users on a global basis to ensure that selected digital music tracks are downloaded only in areas authorized according to the distribution agreement, such as across North America or in Europe.
"RioPort is pleased to announce Digital Envoy as one of its PulseOne Service technology partners," said Anthony Schaller, senior vice president of technology and CTO of RioPort, Inc. "The ability to validate content purchases by determining the location of end users in a non-invasive manner with Digital Envoy's NetAcuity solution helps to further enhance the security of our PulseOne Service."
NetAcuity can determine the geographic location and connection speed of Internet users down to a city level, worldwide. This allows companies to more effectively target and tailor content, route Internet traffic and comply with legal guidelines affecting the delivery of content.
"RioPort is a leader in the digital music space and, by deploying NetAcuity, the company can prove yet again that it is developing and delivering solutions that meet the stringent guidelines surrounding the delivery of digital content," said Sanjay Parekh, chief strategy officer of Digital Envoy.
