DIGITAL ENVOY APPOINTS INTERNET INDUSTRY VETERAN DON TELAGE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
New "Phish"-Fighting Tool Uses IP
Intelligence to Combat Online Identity Theft
ATLANTA (February 04, 2004) Digital Envoy, the recognized
leader in developing cutting-edge IP Intelligence solutions, today
named Don Telage, former Networks Solutions, Inc. (NSI) president
and chief operating officer, to its Board of Directors as an independent
board member.
Currently, Dr. Telage remains an ad hoc consultant to VeriSign, following a long career with the company and NSI, which VeriSign acquired several years ago. While at VeriSign/NSI, Telage held a number of key positions including Executive Advisor for Global Internet Strategy from 1999 to 2001 where he orchestrated the expansion of domain names to Unicode script; Senior Policy Officer from 1998 to 1999, during which time he personally led the company?s critical and highly visible negotiations on commercial Internet issues with the U.S. Department of Commerce and Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN); and President and Chief Operating Officer from 1995 to 1997 when he led the company through a period of explosive growth resulting in NSI?s IPO. Telage also served on the NSI Board of Directors from 1995 to 1999 and was the founding board member of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), the non-profit corporation that supplies Internet Protocol (IP) numbers to North and South America under a global Internet agreement.
In the area of public service, Telage served as Chairman of the Child Online Protection Act (COPA) Congressional Commission.
Telage holds a doctorate and master?s degree in mathematics from Clark University, a bachelor?s in psychology from the University of Connecticut, and graduate training in computer science from the University of Rhode Island.
